Why drink citrus infused water? With the current climate we need to remember to look after ourselves. Sometimes it's hard to implement new routines even when we know they'll benefit us 💕
How many times have you started that new exercise routine, new skincare regime, new way of cooking healthier, new gadget for drinking more water? Yeah, we've all been there! 🤷🏽♀️
Well here's something that might be a little simpler to get to grips with; which has benefits galore; citrus water! 💦
Not only do these fruits make your water taste flippin' great but are jam packed with vitamins and nutrients such as vitamin C, folate, beta-carotene, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, calcium, thiamine, fiber and antioxidants to name a few 🙌🏽
Add to that some fresh ginger which has all of the above and then some with vitamin B3 & B6, zinc, riboflavin, niacin.
So in real talk what are the benefits of these individual citrus fruits when added to water?
🍋 Lemon is a natural laxative and helps get the digestive system moving to help prevent constipation. It acts as a detoxifying agent with antibacterial properties which helps fight infections.
🍊 Oranges are full of beta-carotene, which is a powerful antioxidant that protects the cells from damage. It defends against free radicals and eliminates signs of aging.
💚 Lime water reduces heartburn and it helps in the process of elimination of it.
They also contain high levels of magnesium and potassium which help support the overall health of the heart. In particular, potassium can improve blood flow and reduce blood pressure.
🌾 Ginger provides anti-inflammatory effects which aid in joint pain, and it's also known for helping with digestion and nausea.
